WHEN WORDS ACHIEVE NOTHING - ONLY FIRE AND DEATH

As a writer and lifelong campaigner, it will appear strange for me to write, that I have come to the conclusion that words rarely effect change.

In fact, words often become the means by which the powerful coerce us into submission to their oppressive regimes of governance.

And when we protest too much, even only using words, they use their advantage to allow their words to silence, erase or ignore our words.

Hence, the Grenfell Action Group can have written this predictive piece below, for it only to have been ignored.

Burning babies, cremated children and scorched parents will, in the end achieve, what their words couldn't.

Having said that, the word mongers are busy, even now, capturing the foreground, promising everything will be investigated etc.

But blah blah blah away, in the end, the advantaged will be snug in their mansions and the poor will be crammed in their high rise boxes and oh yes, because they look so ugly to the rich, they will be superficially clad, at the cost of millions, with a 'facelift' material, that should it ignite, will ensure the poor are very quickly silenced....and yes, sorry, but the facelift costs mean that there is no more money for a working sprinkler or alarm system, so please, just stay inside your flats - you'll burn quicker that way.

'It is a truly terrifying thought but the Grenfell Action Group firmly believe that only a catastrophic event will expose the ineptitude and incompetence of our landlord, the KCTMO, and bring an end to the dangerous living conditions and neglect of health and safety legislation that they inflict upon their tenants and leaseholders.

'We believe that the KCTMO are an evil, unprincipled, mini-mafia who have no business to be charged with the responsibility of looking after the every day management of large scale social housing estates and that their sordid collusion with the RBKC Council is a recipe for a future major disaster.

'Unfortunately, the Grenfell Action Group have reached the conclusion that only an incident that results in serious loss of life of KCTMO residents will allow the external scrutiny to occur that will shine a light on the practices that characterise the malign governance of this non-functioning organisation.

'We believe that the KCTMO have ensured their ongoing survival by the use of proxy votes at their Annual General Meeting that see them returned with a mandate of 98 percent in favour of the continuation of their inept and highly dangerous management of our homes.'
