CAN THIS ACTUALLY BE LONDON 2017 - MANSLAUGHTER CHARGES MUST FOLLOW
I am incredulous that this could possibly happen in 2017. Having experienced the stringent controls and safety requirements placed by Councils and Fire Chiefs on properties, this is a preventable tragedy that shows a complete failure of those responsible to protect the residents and the children whose lives have been negligently discarded.
I cannot imagine that this would have happened in a more affluent residential area.
I cannot imagine that concerns voiced by the more advantaged would have gone unheeded.
It seems to me that this is another sign of what I have warned. The lives of some seem to count for much less than the lives of others.
In the end, that disparity will lead to official policies for the disposal of the many for the ease of the few.
Now is the time to wake up to this ugly reality and implement real change.
