WHEN THE CHILD LEADS THE PARENTS IN A BRAVE AND DANGEROUS MERCY

My father recalled to me, on his 500 mile forced march from Prisoner of War camp, towards the end of the war, how precious were the apples that villagers would thrust into their hands.
I stood with my father, in the village outside the prisoner of war camp, when I returned there with him, and he was re-united with a teenager that had watched him bundled in shackles alighting from the train. That a 19 year old had the depth of courage and spirit to convince her family to assist Len Harley is exemplary and their reunion is profoundly moving.
