THE ROAR OF WONGA WELBY

The trouble is that people are often able to cope with pain, quietly packaged and calmly considered in committee or in polite debate, but they recoil at raw or passionate protest.

Often that is because those people have been coerced into swallowing pain, compromise and indignity for so long that they expect nothing different and object to others that are still standing defiant  or alternatively that they are merely considering issues that don't actually tear them.

Wonga Welby was meant to be a strident roar in the corridors of controlled political gerrymandering.

To roar among those who have also roared and roar seems wholly appropriate.

However, I think the reality is that some prefer a spirituality that finds resolution through inner tranquility and communities of calm and others form communities where rage can dance with healing and love and find catharsis.
