SHARON'S IMPRISONMENT

Ariel Sharon died 8 years ago. 

 Why have Israel and his family imprisoned him for the last 8 years?

 No 'grotesque hatred' of Israel though as some have written.

 Passionate concern for the poor bombed beleaguered Palestinian children.

 Passionate concern about the theft of resources by the few rich from the many poor.

 Reflection on the fear of death that haunts the powerful while they so often mete out death to others. 

 No hatred though. My father was a Jew. 

 I am no supporter of one faction or one side.

 Threats and destructive goals arise out of anger and fear.

 Recognising that we are all human beings with the same needs for a home and a homeland enables us to nudge forward towards peace and the accommodation of everyone's basic needs.
