LIBBY PURVES ON GOOD WORKS

We must resist the manipulative argument that Christianity promotes good works.

 If it promotes a divided society, prejudice, hierarchical authority, homophobia, sexism and a history of torture and murder as well as resulting in the amassing of wealth, power and advantage to itself, we would be well rid of it.

 The argument that 'some' of its minions are brainwashed into believing that they must do good to gain favour with their God is self seeking and has no moral worth, nor efficacy for the long term enhancement of international order.

 The good works organised by secular society are of far greater effect and relevance.
