PANORAMA WARNS OF OFFICIALS URGING ABUSE VICTIMS NOT TO TELL POLICE

Sexual Abuse was 'covered up by officials who urged victims not to tell the police'.
Panorama warns of the systemic abuse within the cadets. 350 reports within 5 years. The Ministry of Defence state, "We encourage anyone who has been a victim or who knows someone who has, to report it to the police."
The trouble is, that behind all these revelatory and noble sounding sentiments lies a system and an approach, that remains entrenched in  a self protectionist mode that always prioritises self interest above the safety of the child. The victims of child sexual abuse remain deeply cynical about whether this will ever change despite all the dramatic headlines and promises.
