THE SCANDAL OF OUR WHITE JESUS AND WHITE MALE GOD
Slavery and its unconscionable present and past evil, arises from the scandal of our white Jesus and white male God. Images and beliefs are important factors in the molding of perception and the development of family, society, community and politics. The damage done by the propagation of distorted, biased and self serving religious iconography and dogma is immense. The facts are clear. Jesus was not white, yet the only Jesus with which most people in the U.K. are familiar is the white Jesus. God is not male. Yet the only language that most people encounter in relation to the deity is masculine. Our dream and imaginative worlds conjure up a white bearded Divine in the sky, with his white son at his side, ruling over all, just as white men have ruled over their family, society and the world. The results of such religious manipulation and branding have been devastating, leading to men occasioning oppression, misery, slavery and slaughter throughout the centuries. Arguments that other nations present Jesus in their own image fail to deal with the white hegemony that has tyrannised the world, nor the deception involved, of human beings modelling their own divine images to suit their purposes, nor the predominant masculinity of the majority of all religious language of the major religions. We carve out such physical or verbal images at our peril and become enslaved and corrupted by the work of our hands and minds. Enough of this travesty of truth. For the world to evolve towards a more honest, more equal and more just dispensation, then these games must end. We must alter our beliefs, our prayers and practices. While ever children across the country are taught to say "Our Father", while ever State prayers are offered "through Jesus Christ our Lord", while ever the Anglican church promotes a message of God as Father, Son and and Holy Spirit we remain doomed to a further corruption of the family, society and politics. As well as the removal of statues and memorials, there must be a radical reform in the Church, that goes to the heart of its creed, to ensure it retains a positive relevance and is at the forefront of the best forms of social development.

I AM PROUD OF MY WRITING, FOR JESUS’S SAKE, THAT HAS HAD ME FOUND INNOCENT IN HEAVEN, BUT TWICE A CRIMINAL ON THE EARTH. THE FIRST IN 1990 WHEN I WROTE A BIBLICAL TEXT ON THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT IN PEACEFUL PROTEST ABOUT THE BOMBING OF YOUNG IRAQI RECRUITS DURING THE FIRST GULF WAR. THE SECOND, IN 2016 WHEN I WROTE ON MY BLOG, TO ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT A PAEDOPHILE, AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN FORCING THE AUTHORITIES TO STOP HIM HAVING ACCESS TO CHILDREN. THERE WAS ALMOST A THIRD! IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
