THE EXECUTIVE OPTS FOR VIOLENCE RATHER THAN WORDS IN BANNING DRILL

The executive is choosing the inferior path, opting for violence rather than upholding the efficacy of words. It seems that civilisation is facing the ultimate crisis, that despite having saturated ourselves with words, information and knowledge, we have lost the argument. A multiplicity of legislation and orders are being used by the courts to spread silence, to remove the power of verbal protest, to stop society engaging in open debate, the sharing of ideas and thought. Drill is the latest target. It may appear beneficial to tape the mouths of those promoting violence, but doing so, is itself a violation that demonstrates the impotence of rationality. Better for every word, of every type, to be uttered and met with countering words, so that a clear distinction is upheld between language and action. People must be allowed to say the most horrendous things, but not do them.

IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE  CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED  TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS,  IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
