PUTIN TAKES CIVILIAN DEATHS IN HIS STRIDE AND IS YET REGARDED WITH RESPECT

Western democracy has no answer to totalitarian and barbarous regimes. It pussyfoots around them, uttering grave warnings, that fizzle out like a dud firework. The immediacy and emotive nature of social media and 24/7 news coverage, mean that a child crying in distress can stop an allied army in its tracks. Hot foot on every military act come Amnesty International and accusations of war crimes that make British politicians quake. Putin, on the other hand, appears to consider the deaths of innocents, even large numbers, as a necessary part of regaining control, in order to stem a larger catastrophe. Reading the positive critiques about Putin's Syrian ingression, indicates that long term strategy may curry greater favour than short term sentimentalism. While not relinquishing our firm espousal of human rights and proportionate responses, we may need to muscle up and be willing to incur initial opprobrium in pursuit of a conclusion worthy of acclaim.

IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE  CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED  TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS,  IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
