THE CREEPING CENSORSHIP THAT WILL IN TIME END DEMOCRACY

We are faced with a creeping censorship that will in time end democracy. The internet was hailed as a new world of liberty and freedom of expression and information. Slowly that is being removed as states encroach upon it with legislation, courts shackle it with gagging orders and institutions wade in with confidentiality contracts. Official complaints often achieve nothing and are just a way of swallowing protests in a non productive process. A free press, free internet, free social media and free speech are essential for our safety and for democracy.
