POLANSKI - IT MAY TAKE A LIFETIME BUT IN THE END SOME VICTIMS FIND THEIR VOICE

What is extraordinary, but also understandable, when you realise the damage caused by child sexual abuse, is that the alleged victim has found it so hard to integrate what happened to her when young, that she has remained incapable of bringing this man to justice for almost a lifetime.
Meanwhile he has been adored and honoured around the world and has so far escaped conviction.
How many other victims there may be, we don't know and may never know, for many paedophiles evade detection because of the paralysis they engender in their victims. Polanski's actions stand as an international indictment of our failure to take paedophilia seriously and by so doing, leave children vulnerable to exploitation.
