FREEDOM OF SPEECH - WHAT'S THAT?

Universities are being ordered to guarantee 'Freedom of Speech' at a time when the courts are increasingly removing it. Never have there been so many gagging orders, shutting down the flow of information, concealing criminals and paedophiles and allowing corruption to spread beneath the public radar. Newspapers spend years trying to overturn such assaults on free speech, only at times to be successful. In addition the politically correct sniffer dogs ensure that nearly every person filters what they would have said to ensure that it won't cause them to bark. Harassment legislation is misused to prevent investigation and see off whistle-blowers. New laws are even now being prepared to censor the Internet. We live in an increasingly contrived society where we delude ourselves on our freedom to express ourselves, when in fact, each year, another band of gaffer tape is being wrapped around our mouths.
