THE STATE WANTS TO TORTURE PRISONERS MORE
The State's indefensible treatment of prisoners and the degrading treatment they receive is being concealed behind a claim that prisoners are becoming more violent and must be shackled.
There is an institutionalised sadism that expresses itself in police and prison custody and the regimes that underpin them.
Anyone with an eye to see, can quickly become aware of the deviant psychology that lurks behind many of the practices that exist within jails and in the treatment of prisoners by prison staff.
Handcuffs, dehumanising approaches, spit hoods, restraint techniques and now shackles. All because the State wants to hide the failure of society to evolve an enlightened response to offending and to incarceration, often involving the most deprived, needy and emotionally fragile members of the community, many of whom have known a lifetime of having been abused.
Now the State wants to abuse them more.
