WHEN COURTS KILL A CHILD, JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Charlie Gard will go down in history as the person who finally exposed the gulf between pretension and action, who, in his tiny vulnerable being, took on the mighty forces of the State, its courts and its judges and though slain, yet rose triumphant to expose the truth.
Never again will State and Court be associated alone with the dispensation of justice, the protection of human rights, the guardianship of citizens and the care of children.
We have had to grow up and realise that those in wigs and ermine, who raise themselves to positions of control and judgement and who feast with the 'highest and best' are even able to have a child die, at their command. They have been toppled from their places of honour and trust by the tiny hands and heart of a defenceless babe.
