MADELEINE

Let me be clear I grieve for the plight of Madeleine and I grieve for the suffering of her parents.

However, what presents us with a great problem, is that millions of pounds are being spent searching and investigating the case, when no such resources are being made available in other such cases. 

Further, where many poorly resourced families would have been subject to a child protection investigation and possible action for having exposed Madeleine to this fate, this middle class and wealthier family have been and are being given very special treatment.

As Madeleine is in the headlines again, let us also yearn for the missing children of poor families snatched by social services....
