COURT SENTENCES MOTHER FOR SMACKING
Social hypocrisy!
I was beaten at junior school with a slipper and a wooden spoon. I was caned regularly at senior school. It was all acceptable just a few years ago. No one was held to account. It happened to so many then; I and they have not been deeply traumatised by it.
So the PC brigade have swung into action and suddenly no physical punishment is allowed.
It is wholly inappropriate for a court to impose such a severe penalty on a stressed mother trying to cope with her child.
Particularly as it may have been a vindictive action to film and report by a partner looking for an exit strategy.
If he had had a genuine concern, then he could have resolved it discreetly without humiliating the mother and destroying the family. Except in the most severe of cases, society should keeps its nosy harmful fingers out of family life.
