JESUS IS BORN
Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem to register in a census, that had been ordered by the ruling authority.
While there, Mary gave birth and laid her son in a feeding trough, among the animals, where they had been forced to stay, because no other accommodation was available.
News reached a group of shepherds that a baby had been born to a family who were sleeping in a stable. They were intrigued and went to see. Their hearts were moved at the sight of the child and his parents, in such a humble setting. They sensed that they had witnessed something remarkable and shared their experience widely.
Mary and Joseph named their son, Jesus.
