LORD SUMPTION'S "UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL" HISSY FIT AND MATTHEW PARRIS'S REBELLION
Lord Sumption has luxuriated in privilege since birth, used
to issuing judgements and raking in his millions. He does not take kindly to
being told what to do, and in this tantrum of the indulged, he chooses to
undermine the government’s message and be a rallying call for civil
disobedience. His posh rebellion is an incentive to the likes of those who
kicked the postman’s van on the Isle of Wight and who punched the farmer in the
Peak district, both of whom had objected to those contravening the lock down.
Matthew Parris is another, too used to having everything, whose article ‘Let’s
not rush to bow at the state’s command’, chose to subvert the Prime Minister’s lock
down, even at this unprecedented time when so much is at stake and when so many
have lost their lives across the world. It’s a rare insight into the feral,
unruly and even criminal side of those, whose lives have wrapped them up in
gold, when born into different social circumstances, they may well have been
serving time. It’s a humbling thought for us all, that many versions of our
lives lie within us, and the ones that come to pass have perhaps less to do with
morality or virtue and more to do with matters quite beyond us. Having said
that his choice to shame the police and government, as hundreds die daily, is “frankly disgraceful”.

THE SECOND, IN 2016 WHEN I WROTE ON MY BLOG, TO ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT A PAEDOPHILE, AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN FORCING THE AUTHORITIES TO STOP HIM HAVING ACCESS TO CHILDREN. THERE WAS ALMOST A THIRD! IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
