RESIST THE LOVE ISLAND CANCER SPREADING TO TWO SERIES

Our culture may be able to withstand one series of Love Island, though much would point otherwise, however, two could prove terminal. As with most things that are bad for us, taken in moderation, it may be tolerable, but deadly in overdose. The threat involves the money driven distortion of reality, shamelessly and relentlessly promoted to the young as normality. Steroid driven muscular men and breast, buttock, lip and face augmented women are coerced and manipulated to pair with one another to avoid being dumped, build Instagram followers and even win the paltry £25,000 each, which is pocket money on the way to the millions that lie beyond. Make up, hair creations and designer clothes are obsessions. The dialogue broadcast is trite, shallow, superficial and heavily edited for salacious effect. Trickery, betrayal, division, competition and argument is encouraged. Relationships are hot housed, artificially accelerated and presented as natural patterns of courting. Couples are forced to share the same bed and sexual activity invited, even expected, rewarded with visits to a private area, where sexual 'toys' are provided. Outlandish claims that participants have slept with over 100 partners go unchallenged. Fantasy dates are organised where couples trigger each other into ever more exaggerated expressions of appreciation, adoration and commitment. They believe their relationship has faced immense challenges in the villa and that nothing can defeat them in the outside world. What does, often rapidly, is a dose of reality. However, the impressionable young are left with a legacy of lies, deception, manipulation and perversion as exemplars with which they are meant to fashion their own lives, make their own decisions and approach relationships. Two series of Love Island is yet another step towards the destruction of our culture, the erosion of traditional virtues, values, self discipline and dignity and the moral fibre, essential for social harmony, stable intimate relationships, true happiness and fulfillment.

I AM PROUD OF MY WRITING, FOR JESUS’S SAKE, THAT HAS HAD ME FOUND INNOCENT IN HEAVEN, BUT TWICE A CRIMINAL ON THE EARTH. THE FIRST IN 1990 WHEN I WROTE A BIBLICAL TEXT ON THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT IN PEACEFUL PROTEST ABOUT THE BOMBING OF YOUNG IRAQI RECRUITS DURING THE FIRST GULF WAR. THE SECOND, IN 2016 WHEN I WROTE ON MY BLOG, TO ALERT THE PUBLIC ABOUT A PAEDOPHILE, AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN FORCING THE AUTHORITIES TO STOP HIM HAVING ACCESS TO CHILDREN. THERE WAS ALMOST A THIRD! IN 1997, WHEN I WAS ARRESTED FOR NAILING MY PROPOSALS FOR REFORM OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND ON THE DOOR OF CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. WORDS ARE POWERFUL MESSAGES THAT CHALLENGE  CORRUPTION, CONFRONT THE WICKED AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED  TO COMMUNICATE HIS WORDS,  IRRESPECTIVE OF THE COST.
