WHEN WILL HOLLYWOOD TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT SEX?
I have always wondered, when watching films over my 61 years, why it is that the relationships portrayed don't seem true to life. Men and women are fragile, awkward and clumsy in their handling of relationships. There is rarely the bravado, the confidence, the easy pull, the quick move to kiss, the passion and sex on the first date that are the staple fare of films. Men are presented routinely as skilled romancers and women as ready and willing, when in fact, these cinema stereotypes are the product of a pattern of male abuse and grooming. Woody Allen even has the vile audacity to be producing a film about an older man preying on teenagers. A positive consequence of the present shocking revelations, may hopefully be a whole new approach to the presentation of sexuality on screen and CBE's only for those who don't use their art to spread their own deviance.
