LOOK UNDER THE BBC OR ANY SUCH STONE AND IT STINKS

That's why gagging orders, secrecy and the increasing restrictions being placed in public life on transparency and the freedom of expression are so worrying.
On the one hand it seems that we can ask questions and expose but on the other, people are being silenced, transparency is being withdrawn and democracy undermined.
The lack of equality in gender pay, even in such a liberal and enlightened flagship as the BBC puts the lie to any sense that we can ever be complacent about any organisation irrespective of its pretensions.
Equality in gender pay should be a human right.
