BURY DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES,CARRILINE, RESIGNS, GUILTY OF SERIOUS MISCONDUCT
Instead of scrupulously following safeguarding and child protection procedures, protocols were broken and information leaked to those who might be affected.
The children were shafted.
Reports about the paedophile had been given to the police, but they had taken no further action.
It was a brave individual, who risked much, who blew the whistle.
Instead of that courage being met with officials acting properly, it met with corrupt officials, acting to protect various self interests, and put at risk the children involved.
The Director of Children's Service's, Carriline, broke a string of strict guidelines.
Favours and improper motives are said to have driven the corrupt officials.
Carriline has been found guilty of serious misconduct. He and the Chief Executive, Owen, have resigned.
If one cannot rely upon the safeguarding procedures and safeguarding officers and Council officers then children are at great risk. If the police and the courts can also not be relied upon to protect children then it falls to brave individuals, like the Oldham employee, to step up to the mark.
