"CHARLIE IS A WASTE OF SPACE ON PLANET EARTH" ARGUE THOSE WHO WOULD LET HIM DIE
The court has decided he should die.
However the court has also refused to allow even the most seriously ill adults, who want to die, to end their lives.
Is this not another example of the expendability of children?
The adult logic goes that Charlie is a waste of space on planet earth, a waste of NHS resources, a waste of money, a waste of doctors' time and a waste of the court's time. It is better for the adult world that Charlie should die. It defends the rights of adults' time, money and resources for Charlie to die.
But, let's be clear, it is not in Charlie's interests, or his human rights, for him to die.
If the parents can provide him with a treatment that may save his life, then no one should stop them. It is his inalienable right to have his parents protect him. No court should be allowed to usurp this.
