U.K. PRISONERS - EVEN THE ELDERLY ARE TREATED INHUMANELY LIKE OTTO WARMBIER

Having listened to a vulnerable, young autistic detainee, being provoked by custody staff. Having seen a 10 year old banged up in an adult cell. Having seen a mentally vulnerable man laughed at by staff. Having heard a detainee being restrained unnecessarily by officers. Having witnessed the detained being denied their PACE rights. Having watched innocent people being herded, shoved, humiliated and tormented, I read the report that they wouldn't allow an older, very sick man in terrible pain, with weeping sores to have a bath or use the toilet without handcuffs, with a numb recognition that this is the state of the U.K.'s detention practices today. That the prisoner died, handcuffed to an officer, while on the toilet is chilling and smacks of what happenend in North Korea to Otto Warmbier. The Ministry of Justice's ice cold official response smacks too of North Korean pretence. Once people lose faith in such official pronouncements, government is seriously undermined.
