I cannot conceive of the egotism and selfishness that is involved in squandering this amount of money on oneselves, in a world of such dire need. It represents a potent and vivid symbol of the very reason the world is in such turmoil. It supports my sober prediction, that should the advantaged and powerful continue in this vein, then, the poor are doomed to annihilation, as the means to achieve such, becomes technologically possible.
The barricades are burning. The tumult is growing. The disorder presses ever nearer.
The wave of new politics and unexpected electoral results represents the restlessness among those who recognise that the old ways have delivered us into this chaos and that change is required.
However, with the public still susceptible to the cynical manipulative games of the powerful, through the media and through corporate institutions, the hopes abroad are likely to be dashed, because it seems that no one has the real appetite for the systemic change necessary to herald a new world order.
