HAVE WE GOT A COSY PLACE NEAR TO GOD

Do we believe that God loves us and is going to save us because we believe in him and have given our lives to him and that we are assured a place in heaven?

I am sorry to say this, but I have no choice, such a belief would amount to one of the greatest egotistical self deceptions around.

God loves everyone because God created everyone.

God does not love us because we believe. Our belief is irrelevant.

God does not assure us of a place in heaven because we have made a commitment. Our commitment and our response is irrelevant.

As a good mother and a father love their child, so God loves us.

As a good mother and father only want the best for their child, so God only wants the best for us.

As a good mother and a father would never destroy their child, so God will never destroy us.

We have no advantage whatsoever over an atheist, an agnostic, a member of another faith community like a Muslim or a Hindu or a Pagan, not even over those who have done and do extreme wrong.

God loves every person equally and if God is God and if heaven is heaven, then all will be healed, restored and welcomed into this Utopian community of life.
